Eligible Projects

Any traffic safety planning or education project that addresses one or more of the Road to Zero pillars

Best Practices

  • Applicants must be Road to Zero Coalition members
  • Applications should demonstrate safety countermeasures by describing the approach, using evidence to prove how it works, or describing how effectiveness will be evaluated and how it will address gaps in traffic safety
  • Projects must have measurable objectives and generalizable results; should be able to be replicated in other areas/regions
  • Funding is unlikely for one-off requests like equipment or materials
  • Projects must be achievable in a one-year period; extensions are not available
  • Past grantees are allowed to apply, but continuations of current or previous projects will not be funded
