Go Georgia began its journey in 2003 as Georgia Bikes, a dedicated advocacy organization focused on improving conditions for cyclists across the state. Over the years, we worked alongside local governments, transportation planners, and community advocates to push for safer streets, better bike infrastructure, and expanded access to cycling for all Georgians. Through our efforts, Georgia became a more bike-friendly state, with increased awareness, enhanced cycling networks, and new policies to support active transportation.
As the need for inclusive transportation options grew, our mission expanded beyond bikes. Recognizing the importance of safe accessibility for pedestrians, people using wheelchairs, and others, we transformed into Go Georgia. This shift reflects our commitment to safe, equitable streets for everyone, regardless of how they move. Today, we continue the work we started, advocating for complete transportation and recreation solutions that promote healthy, sustainable communities across the state.
